The 3- day pragram is inviting experts in the industry to join our select group of thought leaders. The sessions over the 3 days are either in the format of a panel or a debate.
Recommended Format:
Moderator-led & Discussion-oriented
Tabling of a series of 2-3 questions per panelist (mutually agreed upon beforehand between moderator & panelist)
Panel Constitution:
Line-up comprising (but not limited to) a mix of 4-5 of following: solution provider, use-case, urban body, policymaker, regulator, professional & expert
Flow of proceedings:
Host (MMI) to call panelists followed by moderator on stage – Introducing them individually
Moderator to set context of 50-minute session within 90-120 seconds highlighting key areas of emphasis (questions to be covered) without any further introductions.
Moderator to proceed with opening question to opening panelist.
Panelist to take 90 seconds with a back-and-forth between moderator & panelist(s) not exceeding 180 seconds ideally.
This process to be repeated with all 5 panelists.
3 rounds of questions to take ideally 45 minutes
5 minutes for 2 audience questions
NOTE: This is a proposed format, which is open to revision as per the moderator & confirmed panelists’ wishes. Preparatory calls will be arranged between moderator & panelists to discuss preferred session format, flow, & proceedings
Recommended Format:
Moderator-led & Result-oriented
Tabling of a question that provokes or forces one to hold a point of view for or against an issue, agenda, or state of the world
Question to be followed by a Motion that details the dilemma in the form of a statement aiming to pique audience curiosity and ending with the laying of responsibility at the feet of one or another stakeholder
3-4 debaters each – 3 For + 3 Against the Motion
Debate Constitution:
Line-up comprising (but not limited to) a mix of 4-5 of following: solution provider, OEM, urban body, policymaker, regulator, concerned citizen & expert
Flow of proceedings:
Host (MMI) to call debaters followed by moderator on stage – Introducing them individually
Moderator to introduce debate topic followed by Motion within 180-240 seconds stirring audience curiosity by highlighting the issue, agenda, or state of the world that demands redressal & reform by elaborating the 2 broad divergent points of view that represent the essence of the debate.
Moderator to begin by calling the first debater to dais to debate For the Motion. First debater to have 240 seconds to speak For the Motion. Thereafter, moderator to sum up 1st debater’s facts in defence of the motion within 60 seconds.
Moving forward, moderator to call second debater to dais to debate Against the Motion. Second debater to have 240 seconds to speak Against the Motion. Thereafter, moderator to sum up 2nd debater’s facts in opposition of the motion within 60 seconds.
Moderator to follow suit as detailed above for 3 – 4 rounds.
After completion of all rounds For & Against the Motion, Moderator to bring forward for audience introspection a salient thesis statement that represents a view point in defence of & in opposition of the Motion.
Moderator to open floor to audience to discuss & evaluate the merits & demerits of the antithetical points of view.

Preparatory calls will be arranged between moderator & debaters to discuss debate format, flow, sequencing, & proceedings.
